2/28/2024 Spring Street Paving Announcement

The Town recently announced a portion of Poplar Avenue would be paved this summer, which is a project managed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). The repaving covers a stretch of 2.5 miles costing $2 million.

For the current fiscal year, the Town has a budget of $3 million for street paving, which will cover 9.06 miles of Town roads. Clay Ticer, the Assistant Director of Collierville Public Services, shares insights into the town's paving plans for the upcoming season.

“Several factors determine which roads get paved. This includes current road conditions, resident complaints and requests, scheduled resurfacing based on age or wear, and consultations with Streets and Drainage management to identify problematic areas such as potholes or cracking,” said Clay.

The Town follows a fall and spring paving schedule when the temperature range is ideal for asphalt paving. Houston Levee Road, from Halle Parkway to Crooked Creek Road, and the Houston Levee Trace subdivision were completed this past fall.

The spring paving season typically begins mid to late March and is completed by early June.

The subdivisions on the spring paving list have already been patched and are ready for the next step in the process.

These subdivisions include:

  • Bray Station Road – We are paving the section between Frank Road and Poplar Avenue. It is patched and waiting for the final overlay.
  • Civic Center Drive – We are paving the section between Bray Station and Flicker’s Nest Cove. It is patched; the next step is milling and then final overlay.
  • Creekside Subdivision (Phase 1) – We are paving the entire subdivision. It is patched; the next step is milling and then final overlay.
  • Beckett Ridge Subdivision – We are paving the entire subdivision. It is Patched; the next step is milling and then final overlay.
  • Fleming Gardens Subdivision – We are paving the southern end of the subdivision. It is patched; the next step is milling and then final overlay.
  • Whisper Woods Subdivision – We are paving the entire subdivision. It is patched; the next step is milling and then final overlay.

Progress Road (from Poplar Avenue to Keough Road) and Poplar View Parkway (from Poplar Avenue to Civic Center Drive) are alternative streets that will be completed this fiscal year if funds allow.

Residents can report any potholes or other road issues to Public Services by using the Mayor’s Action Center colliervilletn.gov/mac or reach them directly at 901-457-2800.
