Here are some codes and ordinances for the season:
FIREWORKS
91.40 UNLAWFUL PRACTICES.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell or offer for sale any type of fireworks (as defined in Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-104-108) or toy cannons within the corporation except sparklers, toy pistols or caps or like fireworks that can be fired or used within a room. It shall be unlawful to fire or light any fireworks upon the streets of the corporation or within the open lots near any business, house or residence within the corporation.
(A) Due to public safety concerns, public complaints, limited areas for these types of events, and the taxing availability of manpower that must be provided by the Fire Department, outdoor fireworks displays, that also include close proximity displays, sky lanterns, kites etc., shall not be permitted within the Town Limits unless approved by the Board of Mayor and Alderman.
(B) All approved outside public fireworks displays shall be permitted through the State of Tennessee Fire Marshal's Office as defined in Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-104.
(C) All approved indoor and outdoor fireworks displays shall also obtain a permit from the Collierville Fire Marshal's office.
Amend Section 307.1.1: Prohibited Open Burning.
Open burning shall be prohibited within the Town Limits of Collierville. No person shall cause, suffer, allow or permit open burning of refuse, garbage, trade waste, trees, limbs, brush, grass clippings, leaves, agriculture stubble, or materials from salvage operations, in accordance with this section and Town of Collierville Ordinances, Chapter 96.
EXCEPTION:
1) This section does not apply to grilling, barbeque, or cooking food using charcoal, wood, propane or natural gas in cooking or grilling appliances.
2) This section does not apply to burning for the purpose of generating heat in a stove, furnace, fireplace or other heating device within a building used for human or animal habitation.
3) This section does not apply to fires used for training and instruction of firefighters or for research in fire protection or prevention.
4) This section does not apply to recreational fires as outlined in section 307.4.2.
5) This section does not apply to portable or fixed outdoor fireplaces as outlined in section 307.4.3.
Add New Section 307.1.2: Agriculture Burning.
Burning of agriculture land and fields for the purpose of clearing trees, limbs, brush grass, weeds, crop stubble and demolition waste that may be on site, is prohibited within the Town Limits of Collierville, Tennessee.
(8a) Amend Section 307.4.2: Recreational Fires. Recreational fires shall not be conducted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible material. Conditions which could cause a fire to spread within 25 feet of a structure shall be eliminated prior to ignition.
3) Shall not overload pit or fire area; keep fires small within the limits of the pit or portable fire box, not more than three feet wide and two feet in height.
4) Do not use flammable or combustible liquids to start fires
Amend Section 307.4.3: Portable or Fixed Outdoor Fireplaces.
Portable or fixed outdoor fireplaces shall be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and shall not be operated within 15 feet of a structure or combustible materials.
EXCEPTION: Portable or fixed outdoor fireplaces used at one-and two-family dwellings; except as noted below;
3) Fuel burned in the outdoor fireplace shall be clean wood, wood pellets made from clean wood, or other listed fuels specifically permitted by or per the manufacturers instruction.
4) Trash, yard waste, rubbish, or paper products shall not be burned
