The Development Department offices are open to the public. The Planning Division and Engineering Division are open Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. The Building and Codes Division is open Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Email them at building_codes@colliervilletn.gov.

Planning and zoning applications, building and trade permit applications are available online and most are “fillable” PDF documents. Click here to link to these Applications, Checklists, and Forms. Once filled, these documents need to be printed and dropped off, along with a check to our offices for review and approval. Application and document drop off can be done 24 / 7 using our convenient Development Department Drop Box, located outside our lobby (see photo below.)

The drop box is located on the east-side of Town Hall in front of the Development Services Lobby.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2021

The Town of Collierville will be enforcing the 2018 International Codes and the 2017 National Electrical Code with local amendments.

The Building and Codes Division is comprised of three individual sections:  Plan Reviews and Permitting Process, Building Inspection and Code Compliance. The Building and Codes Division issues construction permits, performs plan reviews and field inspections of buildings and properties to ensure a safe and clean environment throughout the community. The Division regulates Local and State Laws related to construction, maintenance, use, repair and rehabilitation. This includes enforcement of the Town's Code of Ordinances through our Code Compliance section, and State mandated Building Code Regulations.

If you are not a State of Tennessee or Shelby County licensed contractor please contact Building & Codes Division at (901) 457-2310 or by email to verify your eligibility to request an application for permit.

**All residential projects, which exceed $3,000, require a properly licensed contractor. Projects between $3,000 and $25,000 require a State Licensed Home Improvement Contractor. Projects in excess of $25,000 require a State Licensed General Contractor**.
